Clearing new-born puppy airways, and nasal passages of mucus and fluid as quickly as possible is crucial to survival . This suction aspirator is quick, its simple and may just save your puppies life.

Operating on the same principle and procedure as a traditional bulb syringe this puppy aspirator just gives you more control over the amount of suction being used.  Take small gentle "sips" rather than long continuous suction to minimise risk of soft tissue damage or lung collapse. The mucus is drawn into and caught in the filter chamber.

  • Made of silicone
  • This is the 1 piece tube type (we also stock other Aspirator Options
  • Components are easy to disassemble and should be disinfected after each use.
  • This is very similar to our 2 piece type

New Born Puppy Mucus or Fluid Removal

Tilt the puppy's head on a downward angle letting gravity help.

Place the soft tip into the puppy’s nose or mouth. Be gentle, but you will need to press it snugly against the nostril to create a seal. If placing in the mouth, be careful not to go past the entrance of the throat, as this could cause injury to the puppy's throat and airway.

Place the other end into your own mouth and suck. The suction created by you should draw fluid from the puppy and into the collection chamber, or just to the outer nostril area, where you may just see small bubbles. If you don't have a stethoscope you can often hear fluid by simply placing the puppy up to your hear and listening for that "crackling" sound. Repeat until the puppy is clear.

Sometimes if mucus is particularly thick, steam will help loosen it before aspirating
