Sometimes you need a bit more intervention than the classic bulb syringe. This suction aspirator has 2 flexible tubes, one for the puppy and one that you suck on. The mucus is drawn into and caught in the filter chamber.

Always clear new born puppy airways, and nasal passages of mucus and fluid as quickly as possible with either a bulb syringe or suction aspirator. Its quick and its simple and may just save your puppies life.

Operating on the same principle and procedure as a bulb syringe this puppy aspirator just gives you more control over the amount of suction being used.  Take small gentle "sips" rather than long continuous suction to minimise risk of soft tissue damage or lung collapse.

Whelping Aspirator

  • Made of silicone
  • This is the 2 piece tube type (we also stock other Aspirator Options
  • Components are easy to disassemble and should be disinfected after each use.
  • This is very similar to our 1 piece type

Remove New-born Puppy Mucus or Fluid

Tilt the puppy's head on a downward angle letting gravity help.

Place the soft tip into the puppy’s nose or mouth. Be gentle, but you will need to press it snugly against the nostril to create a seal. If placing in the mouth, be careful not to go past the entrance of the throat, as this could cause injury to the puppy's throat and airway.

Place the other end into your own mouth and suck. The suction created by you should draw fluid from the puppy and into the collection chamber, removing mucus or fluid.

Sometimes if mucus is particularly thick, steam will help loosen it before aspirating

Although this product is similar to the Delee  or Argyle Mucus Extractor Suction Catheter its major difference  - this mucus trap is not inserted past the nose or mouth, and therefore less risk, you are advised to learn all procedural use from your vet.
