Key Strategies for Elevated Hides

Elevated or High placements—usually above shoulder or nose height—that challenge your dog to catch odors traveling in air currents rather than relying on ground pooling. They test your dog's ability to navigate air dynamics, wind, and pooling odors.

• Use the Right Equipment: Hangable tins, micro-magnets, suspended "bullet" tubes, or tied-off scent buds work best for these placements.
• Leverage the Wind: Airflow strongly affects how a scent travels. Always assess wind direction and ensure your dog starts downwind to read the scent cone properly.
